COVID-19 positive test results increased at Moma in December 2020, according to Kenmare Resources’ Q4 Production Study, which was released in mid-January.

There are now 177 individuals in isolation, the bulk of whom are asymptomatic.

Kenmare’s top priority is to keep its citizens safe, and management is focused on preventing the spread of COVID-19.

Kenmare has begun blanket testing of the site’s workers every two weeks, in addition to pre-existing physical distancing and hygiene procedures, with the aim of reducing this period.

This will help to identify and isolate positive cases more quickly and limit the spread of the virus.

The larger number of cases is limiting the availability of the workforce, including senior management, at the site. However, the business is being managed to mitigate the impact and production has continued at normal levels.
