The award-winning airline increased its frequency due to the growing demand, and currently provides four weekly services to the Mozambican capital.

Qatar Airways’ Vice-President Africa, Hendrik du Preez, said:  “Africa is one of Qatar Airways’ key growth regions in its global network and we are delighted to be celebrating this milestone at Maputo International Airport.  Qatar Airways has shown its commitment to the African market as the only airline that never stopped flying to southern Africa during the pandemic. This allowed for the movement of medicines, delivering 20 million Covid-19 vaccine doses to Mozambique, and essential travel between the region and the rest of the world.”
