Russian group Rosneft is studying the opening of an office in Mozambique the Mozambican ambassador to Russia Mário Saraiva Ngwenya said, according to Reuters.

The Mozambican diplomat also said that by the end of the year the agreement on the operation of the blocks awarded in 2015 to Rosneft and ExxonMobil should be signed.

Ngwenya also said that in the coming weeks a Rosneft delegation will visit Maputo.

In 2015, three blocks were allocated to the ExxonMobil (60%) and Rosneft (20%) consortium, one in the Angoche basin and the other two in the Zambezi basin in central Mozambique.

By 2015, Rosneft said that liquid natural gas (LNG) exports will be a priority if sufficient reserves are found in the concession area.
