Severe weather has left at least 13,000 Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM) customers without electricity across Zambézia province. The outage has affected communities including Sabe, Mepinha, the Coutinho ‘povoado’ and the districts of Morrumbala and Derre.

EDM has deployed technical teams to assess and repair the medium-voltage network fault responsible for the disruption. Restoration work is underway, with the company committed to resuming power supply as quickly as possible.
