The Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique (CTA) is seeking a strategic partnership with Kenmare Resources to launch structured training and certification programs, aiming to boost the participation of Mozambican companies in the extractive industry value chains.
The initiative is a direct response to the ongoing challenges in effectively integrating local suppliers into the resource sector. CTA Vice-President Amâncio Gume underscored the private sector’s commitment to promoting economic inclusion through robust local content implementation.
Focus on Capacity Building
The CTA proposed a collaboration with Kenmare and other industry stakeholders to develop a business training and and certification program. This program, to be spearheaded by the CTA, would focus on preparing local suppliers to meet the stringent quality and operational demands of the extractive industry, thereby strengthening Mozambican businesses and increasing their share in the national economy.
Invitation to CASP 2025
During the meeting with Kenmare representative Gareth Clifton, Mr. Gume also extended an invitation for the company to actively participate in the 20th Annual Private Sector Conference (CASP). The high-profile event is scheduled for November 12 to 14, 2025, under the theme: “Reform to Compete: Moving Towards Economic Relaunch.” Kenmare accepted the invitation, signaling a shared interest in strengthening the country’s private sector development.
